Job Description for

Job Coach

Arts Street and its partners will be launching a year–long program beginning April 2008 to teach youth and young adults in "Visual Informatics", a cluster study of interactive media involving Web Design and Programming, Video Making and Production, and GIS Mapping and Application. These young adults will also receive job readiness training, entrepreneurial business skills and employment guidance. The project's goal is to ready and place the young adults in employment and earned income opportunities by early spring 2009.

The project will be a three–semester college level study and will be conducted at Emily Griffith Opportunity School and Career Education Center in central Denver, and, at Martin Luther King Early College in east Denver during the summer 2008 session. The project is seeking a full–time "Job Coach" for 13 months to guide and manage the trainees, ages 16 – 24 and up. Job starts on April 1, 2008, short term contract, $3,333 per month, no benefits.

Job Responsibilities:
The Job Coach is responsible for:

  • Recruiting trainees for all levels of study of Visual Informatics
  • Case management and tracking of attendance, training and progress of trainees
  • Placement of trainees in job shadowing, internship, employment or self–employment situations.
Required Qualifications:
  • College degree or higher
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional or entrepreneurial work experience
  • Experience in business management and administrative work
  • Experience in working with youth and young adults
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Works and data base management
  • Ability to work with youth trainees, educators and business partners
  • Ability to work in evenings and Saturdays
  • High flexibility of scheduling and ability to respond to requests
  • Demonstrate excellent public relations skills to maintain student and business partnership retention
  • Interest in interactive media and creative development
  • Interest in long term involvement in the related industries
  • Reliable vehicle for transportation to sites
